Ah, Romance In The 21st Century

Tall handsome man meets long jet black hair woman. The connection is instant and intense. Their eyes meet. Man walks to woman and woman blushes and smiles. Man says he'll buy her drink to which she agrees. A minute later, man is back. Woman produces a card from her purse in which she places two drops of her drink. Man asks, "What's that?"
Sweetly she says, "I'm testing my drink."
"For what?" he asks.
"As if you didn't know. Date rape drug(s)."

Ah, Romance in the 21st Century. Ain't it grand?

This is no made up story. FAU (Florida Atlantic University) recently purchased 4,000 date-rape drug detecting cards. The cards have been distributed on campus free to students. Depending on the research of how well the cards prevent date rapes by the drugs Hydroxybutyrate, or GHB, and ketamine.

The SafCard which is manufactured by Drink Safe Technologies of Wellington and marketed by Drink Safe Labs of Delray Beach, Florida.

It seemed like a great idea said one student of FAU. An incident in which a student was sexually assaulted last year after visiting a club were her drink was spiked.

Each card is about the size of a credit card and can be used twice. Using a finger or a straw the user smears a little of the drink on the card. If either of the test turns blue, a date-rape drug has been detected. The cards are accurate about 95% of the time.

DOWNSIDE

Women who have used the card say, "How do I not offend the person I'm with?"

Good question. "How many people actually use it," is also a great question to ask.

If the SafCard helps one woman then its worth the money.

Just kidding. You aight, anyway back to the topic. I think that this is great and that like Prince said, the Safcards should definitely be for free. It was about time with all theses rapes and harassements going on. All women shoud carry them when they go out.

Question is there one for men as well, I do know some men who get rape out there. LOL LOL. just kidding they probably would enjoy it anyways.

Actually this isn't funny, Beau. Some men are raped brutaly and are affected tremendously but never come out. (For example men in jail....there have been stories about men in jail who can't even fall asleep due to fear of geting it in the a**).

And most of the rapes are done by men and not women. Even the ones done by women are not that pleasurable.

Taking something from someone (male or female) without their constent is never a laughing matter...

I agree with the safcards or whatever they call it, but i think some women are jus irresponsible and put themselves in rape situations...
For ex. some women go to clubs jus for the mere fact that guys will buy them free drinks and remember, nothing is for free nowadays.....So if u wanna go clubbin, you better have ur own damn $$ for your own damn drinks.....

It's true some women just want to go to the club so men can buy them drinks. One drink too many they end up on the living room floor naked and they say the got raped. If you don't put yourself in a position to get raped most of the time you won't. Unless it's an assault or a different unfortunate situation.
